Spotlight on Kuwait Solar Market
We invite you to join us and attend this webinar where we will discuss the Kuwait Solar Market in Focus. This webinar is sponsored by Sungrow, organized by MESIA, and participated by many leading companies in the solar PV sector.
In order to diversify its energy mix and reduce its reliance on fossil fuels, Kuwait set a renewable energy goal to increase its share of renewable generation to 15% to be reached by 2030.
Hence, the solar market in Kuwait is making significant strides in alignment with the country’s commitment to diversify its energy mix and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. Kuwait’s solar sector has witnessed substantial growth with the introduction of supportive policies and initiatives.
The government has launched ambitious plans, such as the Kuwait National Development Plan and the Shagaya Renewable Energy Park, to promote renewable energy, including solar power.
These efforts have resulted in the development of several solar projects, both utility-scale and distributed, aimed at harnessing the country’s abundant solar irradiance.
Kuwait is actively engaging in collaborations and partnerships to leverage international expertise and technology in advancing its solar capabilities. As the country continues to focus on sustainable energy solutions, the Kuwaiti solar market is poised for further expansion and innovation.

Dr. Hassan QasemCEO @ Alternative Energy Project Co
Dr. Qasem have been developing and managing solar related projects and research in the area of photovoltaic technology for the last 14 years. His experience varied from international standard testing for PV (UL and IEC) to outdoor characterization of the performance of PV. His core achievement was in explaining the direct relation between soiling and its effect on the attenuation of the solar spectrum. His research finding contributed to many other related works in the area of PV operating and maintenance that have been developed into research activities and commercial projects. Dr. Qasem is the initiator of the soiling workshop which is an annual activity that has been going for the last two years and is part of the PV Quality Assurance work force voluntary group (managed by NREL). Dr. Qasem have also managed many different PV related projects where one of them he managed the PV part of the Shygaya project.
